The Dreaded New Year's Resolution

So there are people who are like 'we don't make resolutions because we know we won't keep them.' Kay, well, you probably do make resolutions/set goals for yourself, most people do. Not to mention the fact that what better time to change & start something new than at the beginning of the year? Its pretty good for that. Anywho, I like making resolutions. Making lists & setting goals is something I do anyway, but the new year is new & exciting & different, perfect for setting new & exciting & different resolutions.

*Resolution number 1: Start a blog.
I'm doing this because I want to. Haha. No, I do enjoy writing & I'm on my computer enough & I kinda want a little outlet.

*Resolution number 2: Get healthy.
Stereotypical New Year's Resolution, I know. Its totally ok with me. Sometimes its good to follow the crowd, & as it were this is very beneficial. I'm hoping to work out 4-6 times a week, depending on what I do & what else absolutely has to get done. Eating well is definitely a part of this too. I'm pretty excited for this resolution.

*Resolution number 3: Pay more attention to friends.
When taking 18 hard, intense credit hours, working, being stressed, & now this semester rushing, its going to be easy to forget to get involved in my friends' lives. I know they're going to be there for me, but I need to be there for them just as much...if not more because that's how I am.

*Resolution number 4: Get involved in church.
I was pretty involved in youth group & all that in middle & high school, but when I got to college it just didn't happen. After going to Passion, I know that's what I'm missing. Also, its a good way to meet people & get more involved on campus. Being a middle school youth group sponsor is also something I'm putting in this category.

*Resolution number 5: Try to be more positive.
Kay, this is going to be the hardest one to do. I'm not necessarily a pessimist, but I do tend to be a little dramatic & realistic. Dramatic in the sense that sometimes little things can get a bit blown out of proportion. For example, getting a C on a paper is not the end of the world although it feels like it. I'm a realist because I'm not always thinking things are better than they are. Things & situations just are. Sometimes thats all you need. Looking at the cup thinking its half full, or trying to think on the bright side of things is going to be a definite challenge, but by doing this I'm hoping to not get so stressed & be a more positive influence on people.

Yay for resolutions! & fingers crossed to keeping them.

I hope you have had an awesome start to 2011.
Peace, love, & happiness to the new year.
Sincerely,
Abigail.
